UI/UX DESIGN INTERN | AUG. 2019 – DEC. 2019

I was previously a UI/UX design intern for Seknd, an early stage startup by 2 female co-founders who left Google to pursue the development of this smart skincare discovery platform. Using machine learning, the site intakes user input for what they are looking for in skincare products to generate results that are best for each person's unique skin. Bite-size samples are then shipped at an affordable $5, to help people "discover the best products for their skin".
I collaborated directly with the founders to redesign key aspects of the user search flow and the inception of the community pages– "Seknd Circles", prioritizing desktop platforms instead of mobile-first in this unique experience due to the e-comm centric nature of Seknd. I also supported the relaunch of Seknd's social media presence with content creation and planning. Finally, I contributed to the inception of the college ambassadors program via development and design of branded merchandise.

Since Seknd's launch in April, they have won L'Oréal's Women in Digital Award for their expertise at the intersection of beauty and tech. Considering the intimate size of the team, I was able to contribute to almost all major areas of the site. My work can thus be directly viewed at seknd.com.
